Volunteer at MCCC
Volunteers hold hands, touch hearts—and change lives.
Michael, an Eagle Scout from Troop 130 in Greece, spent over 150 hours working on Cariola Trail at the English Road residence. I'd like to Volunteer Mary Cariola Children’s Center offers many opportunities for you to share your time and talent to benefit very special children. We have five primary ways in which you can volunteer, with a range of time commitments.
1. In the Classrooms
Time commitment: 30 minutes a week.
Volunteers are needed to read to children.
2. At Our Homes
Time commitment: one to two hours, once a week.
Volunteers are often needed at our five homes. Staff members appreciate help with encouraging activities, organizing games and arts and crafts projects, helping with outings and daily living skills.
3. At Camp Cariola
Time commitment: Camp Cariola takes place the third week of August. The time commitment is up to you—a few hours, a few days ... or the whole week!
Each summer our children enjoy the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp in Rush. They enjoy typical camp activities like wagon rides, miniature golf, crafts, the water park and fishing. Volunteers are needed as companions for all activities and help staff with daily camp experience tasks.
4. With Our Events
Time commitment: Committee meetings two to four times a year, depending on the event.
We always need volunteers to help plan, organize, fund, and carry out various Agency events. Mary Cariola has a very busy social calendar.
5. In Our Offices
Time commitment: Flexible.
Mary Cariola needs clerical support throughout the year for administrative functions like preparing mailings and filing. You’ll find that our administrators appreciate whatever support you’re able to provide.
