Discovering each child's potential

Meet Albert

Albert Miller

Albert

Age: 3

Birthday: January 2

Favorite activity: Playing in the Snoezelen Room

Light (Snoezelen Room)The Snoezelen Room is a sensory mecca equipped just for children.

Accomplishments since arriving at Mary Cariola:
Albert was 20 months old and wasn’t connecting with the world when he first came to Mary Cariola. He lay on the floor rocking his head back and forth, and any effort to engage him would result in ferocious screaming—until therapists brought him to the Snoezelen Room. The bubble tube calmed and settled him. Because of this, Albert began wearing his hearing aides instead of popping them out and throwing them. Now, at three years old, Albert can sit upright and is very proud of himself.

What his mother said about Mary Cariola:
“Albert has made tremendous progress. He looks around the room for me now, and when he sees me, he claps his hands. He plays with his toys and waits for his turn. He is doing typical things you want your little one to do and I’m absolutely thrilled.”
