What to Expect When Interviewing.

Employment Application
Completing the employment application is your opportunity to identify employer-specific information, three references, your educational background, your certification and/or license obtained and what prompted you to apply with Mary Cariola. Resumes may be attached to your completed employment application.

Professional Environment
Professional staffing in our programs reflect an interdisciplinary team service structure including a complete multi-disciplinary spectrum of special education, occupational and physical therapy, speech pathology, behavior modification, social work, nursing, psychology, adaptive recreation, music therapy, orthopedics and pediatrics.

Realistic Job Preview
Depending on the position and program for which you are applying you may be invited to watch our agency video, take a building tour, conduct an observation or visit.

Multiple Interviews
Interviewing at Mary Cariola is a thorough process. It is common for our candidates to have more than one interview. Interviews may be accomplished in a group setting or with one individual at a time.

Behavioral-Based Questions
In addition to asking you questions about your work experiences and skills listed on your employment application and resume, you will be asked several behavioral-based questions. These types of questions probe for real-life examples that describe your performance in certain work situations.

Background Investigation, Drug Screening Test and Reference Checks
Mary Cariola strives to maintain a safe working environment for all of our employees, students and visitors. All candidates who are offered a position with Mary Cariola are subject to pre-employment reference checks and post-offer background investigation and drug screening test. In addition, some positions do require a post-offer medical examination. Some positions require a valid New York State Driver's License. A Department of Motor Vehicle check will occur post-offer.
